I have an irrational fear...

in 2nd Trimester

That at my u/s they will find two babies. 

 I do not think that I am measuring that big (I have measured myself twice).  I also do not feel movement that would make me think two.

However, a girlfriend did not know until she had her big u/s that she was PG w/ twins (and she has 4 older boys!).  She now sits at home, on bedrest, with terbutaline every 4 hours trying to stay pregnant for a few more days if not weeks (she will be 36 weeks Thursday).

    Minus the bedrest part I hope for twins!  Tomorrow is the big day.  DH thinks I'm insane for wanting that & he has twin sisters.

    DD1 born 5/24/10.

    Missed M/C at 14 wks Feb 2012.

    DD2 born 5/14/13.

    Missed M/C at 9 wks July 2015.

    Expecting someone new 4/17/17.

    DH keeps joking with me that we will have twin boys and be done since he origionally wanted 4 and I wanted 2.  We will be done this time regardless!!!

    Everyone in DH's family think its really funny to joke about how they just "know" the dr will eventually find another baby--wtf!?! No, I'm cool with having mine one at a time.

    Yeah on my 2nd U/S we found out there was 2 in there. One didn't make it though. My first OB did a bad job on my u/s so we freaked out a little when we found out. Twins run in my family and DH said if we had twins this time we would be done and now he jokes that he is worried for the next time around.

    my whole family keeps joking that I'm going to be having twins.  And they say stuff like "wow your huge!  you sure there is just one baby in there?"  Which is an awful way of saying it.  But I just laugh it off and tell them that if it is twins the one is going to be in espionage, because its really good at hiding!!

    Okay twins would not be the most fun thing I can think of but, if it is you'll be fine.  Your friend is having an extreme reaction to carrying twins.  Her body's response is not normal.  Most women can carry twins fine with no complications other than needed extra checking and attention while pregnant.
