  • Looks like everyone so far has the same opinions on this! :)

  • I would say they're 100% bs, but it happened to my cousin.  She had a baby, and barely a year later her mom had to bring her to the hospital because of terrible pains and it turned out she was in labor with baby #2.  My aunt saw her a day or two before and said she was as skinny as ever and didn't look the least bit pregnant.  She thought she never got her period back after the first baby.

  • I have been watching this show for about the last hour and a half.  If these women are not in denial, these women are just not paying attention to their bodies.  I knew immediatly that I was pregnant.  Your body feels so off and different when you are pregnant, even if I took  a home pregnancy test and got a negative, I would insist that my doctor check me out and see what's wrong with me.

  • Im a little skeptical of a lot of the stories but I have know 3 people in my family who really didnt know....

1st was my second cousin who was a small person and had no clue she was PG. She was young but had AF the whole time, once she got to the end she had severe pains and they actually thought her apendix or something....well she was in labor and delivered a healthy baby girl shortly there after.

2nd was my great aunt who was a very large women and was told her whole life she couldnt have children. She had two adopted and grown children. She started having strong pains that drs thought were kidney stones.. nope again she was in labor and had a healthy baby.

3rd... this one was a tad denial, I agree... My cousin was 16 and PG.... she didnt know it apparently... She had AF whole time, she knew she was gaining weight but never looked pg at all and she said the "kicks" felt like gas bubbles and stomach growls the whole time. She went in to hospital with stomach pains and was 36 weeks PG.

NOW being PG myself I think its crazy that you didnt know because of the feelings I have... but I know everyone is different and I think it can happen...... but I still believe a lot of people on the show are in denial : )

  • It's just so weird.  I saw one where the lady gave birth over a toilet and didn't realize that it was a baby and not poop till she attempted to get up and felt "connected" to the toilet (umbilical cord).  I've never given birth before, but do you really not realize that the "poop" is coming out of your vagina and not your butt?

I saw this episode earlier and was laughing my ass off.  I felt bad for the baby...but seriously, mistaking a baby for poop?  That's hilarious...and that lady must have a mighty stretchy vag.  I would think passing a baby would be a bit tougher than a big poop.

  • I dont know how this is possible...I guess the extreme denial..but I voted total bs..theres always a sign or two that points out the obvious the only way I can see this being remotely true I guess if you weigh ALOT to not notice growth or anything..I dont know, I dont see how most of these women say it.. I avoid the show..blows my mind
  • You can get pregnancy tests for $1 at the dollar store. I don't think there's much of an excuse not to check it out 'just in case' if your having even the vaguest of vague symptoms

And if you don't have ANY symptoms, I just don't think your very in tune with your body or educated about what's normal.

Sorry, but I just can't imagine being so clueless.

It happened to a girlfriend of mine, she found out at 8 months, by accident. She swears she had zero symptoms, didn't gain any weight ect..ect..ect.. I just think she's not very sharp.

  • I think it's a bunch of crap. Do you normally not get your period for nine months? Really? Sorry, but I knew before the test confirmed it, at lest in the back of my mind.
  • ...and what makes me laugh is almost all of them say "I didn't have any cravings!" as if that's the be all and end all symptom! LOL

Hah I havent had any cravings yet and my grandmother said she didnt have any throughout her 4 pregnancies (though she said she knew she was preg when she wanted to eat breakfast..)but yeah, if thats the one and only point out then I'm not pregnant at all!

  • I just can't believe howmany of them there are! I mean, this is no one hour long Oprah special with a few freak show ladies. They have dozens of episodes with 3+ women per episode! What the heck people?

This does happen to girls with PCOS....many of the women on the show have PCOS and their doctors told them they could never have children.

PCOS, lupus anticoagulant, MTHFR (A1298C, one copy) 2 IUIs & 1 IVF = BFN FET#1 = It's a girl! Born 7.1.10 FET#2 = c/p FET#3 = Twin girls! Born on 3.16.12 at 33w2d due to severe pre-E. After 4 weeks in the NICU they are home! Lilypie Third Birthday tickers

  • I think these women are not very in tune with their bodies.  If I had weird periods or skipped a period, I would never say: "Oh I'm just stressed out;" I would run and get a test.  That being said-

My aunt didn't know she was pregnant for the first five months or so, because she spotted off and on and thought her period was just screwy.  Then she started feeling movement and was like OK, let's get that checked out.  She is a very small person and even at 9 months pregnant didn't look pregnant at all.  My cousin was tiny (full term) and still is a tiny girl at 22 years old.

So, I see how it could happen, but I can't believe it's happening to so many people that Discovery can make a show about it every week!!
