I'm sure some of this is hormone-related but it seems like I am constantly mad at DH. It's always either related to cleaning or money, and I have no idea how to resolve this. DH is getting more and more pi**ed, understandably, but then again, so am I. Just because he has taken over walking the dog and cooking dinner 3 nights a week, he thinks he's pulling his weight around the house. It is a mess and I am constantly picking up after him! I just wish he would show some initiative and WANT to help out a bit more. Trying to buy stuff for the nursery is the biggest strain. We just bought a $500 camcorder and a $700 flat-screen and now he wants to skimp on the crib? ("Surely we can get a used one for $150.") WTF. I could understand if we didn't have the money to get a nicer crib, but we do, and for some reason, he doesn't want to spend it on the nursery. I even suggested getting a new crib and getting the rest of the nursery stuff used. But no go. I could go on, but I needed to vent at least a little somewhere. Thanks.

Re: Vent: Hormones and/or DH
Sounds like men to me. My DH has been complaining and etc. since we ordered our nursery furniture. His main line is, "Why does the baby get a new bed? I want a new bed!" Seriously??? I don't even bother to respond to stupid comments like that more than once.
ETA: My DH also feels/thinks the same way about cleaning...
Wow, lady. It's like your are in my house. The chore thing drives me crazy! Basically he is doing 1/2 of what I did pre preg and wants a medal for it! And, for the most part I have to ask. We don't quite have the same problem with money. Although, he is still spending like we always have and I feel like we should be setting money aside for baby stuff. He is sure everyone is going to get stuff off the registry which I keep reminding hm didn't happen with our shower and people use baby registries even less.
I wish I had some advice. All I can say is men and women are wired different. As far as chores unfortunatley many just need the praise and acknowledgment. Regarding the baby stuff and $ I find with my DH if I give him time he comes around. Do you have Baby Bargains? All I had to do was read him the section on why not to buy used cribs and he was totally on board with getting new one. And there are new ones that are very reasonably priced and have great ratings. Check out Graco Lauren and Sarah.
Yes! Thank God, I'm not the only one, though I wish we didn't have to deal with such nonsense. It's funny you mention Baby Bargains, because about 10 minutes before I wrote this post, we were arguing about cribs and I gave him chapter 2 to read. He then said "so you want to walk the dog then? why are you giving this to me now?" Now that he's back from graciously walking the dog, I'll try to give it to him again.
