Anyone know anything about flowers? I need help.

So my kids (I teach) are doing a flower gram fundraiser for Valentine's Day (You know - pay a dollar, send a flower to a fellow student).

So, we're planning to pick up all the flowers (carnations) around 3 pm February 11th from the florist, transport them back to the school, put them in large 5 gallon buckets with water (and the mix stuff they give you) and leave them in my classroom overnight to be given out in homeroom the very next morning (at 7:30 am).

Will they still be in fresh shape? It's basically going to be one night overnight (in water). My classroom is average temperature.

    They should be fine.. Carnations are hearty flowers...

    They should be fine...carnations are pretty hardy.

    That's what my school always did. Are they the big carnations? The big ones especially should be good.

    What a cute idea!  We always sell lollipop candy grams, but I think the flowers are way cuter!

    I used to do this when I was in school, we used the lunch room walk in frig to keep them in overnight.  Do you have that option???
