update on stepping down from wedding

I spoke to my friend last night to let her know that I would need to step-down from being her Maid of Honor. My due date is less than 2 weeks after the wedding. She was very understanding (thank goodness!)  I am still going to help to help with her planning and pre-wedding events (shower and BP). I feel so much better now that I spoke to her!

I am not off the hook entirely, I still have to speak to my other friend who is getting married 3 weeks after my due date. I am supposed to be her bridesmaid. I do not expect her to be as supportive since she got very upset when she found out that I was pregnant. If she gets mad that I have to step down, then she gets mad. She already hurt me when she told me that I was selfish and not a good friend for getting pregnant so close to her wedding day. Hopefully this discussion will go better.

Going to try to talk to her later this week. Will let you know how that discussion goes!

GL with that wacky friend of yours! Such a poor reaction on her part IMO. It would make me reconsider the friendship entirely but that is just me. Anyways glad to hear this one friend of yours was so understanding! Yay to good friends!

Im sorry but IMO she sounds selfish and downright b*tchy! My sister (who only knew her BF for 3 months before getting engaged) knew I wanted to start trying for a baby this year and when I came off BCP told me I better not be a pregnant bridesmaid. I told her I wasnt going to put off having a baby for a year for a wedding that may or may not take place! When she did get married, I was 9 wks preg

I am sorry that you have a "friend" like that, I had a "friend" who was not happy for me either, she was mad I got pregnant first. It does make you feel bad and it shouldn't. You have every right to be happy at this time in your life!?

Good luck telling her about the bridesmaid situation, hope it all works out!

Did she really say that to you?  Sorry, I had to ask....she sounds like the selfish one!  Unbelievable!  I have never understood bridezillas!  People can't plan thier lives around a wedding (One friggan day)

Wow!  I can't believe you didn't step down immediately after she said that.  I think I would have told her exactly where she could shove her wedding and then to go f!@k herself!!
