Ditto Amanda. I've bought shoes for Justin at Kohl's, Target, Children's Place and Stride Rite. Stride Rite is over priced, Children's Place is OK but I only bought them there because I was looking for something special. Kohl's has a bigger variety for boys than Target.

Stride Rite. Katherine wears a wide. We buy her two pair for the season that she wears daily, one brown and one white or pink. That's how I justify the cost.
Ditto Moesten. DD wears a wide shoe. Stride Rites are the only ones that fit her well. They are also the only ones that DD will leave on her feet for any length of time. I had to have Stride Rite shoes when I was little too because of an instep problem, so I should not be surprised. They are worth the money IMO.
My son also has a wide foot and we have had great luck with Converse One-Stars velcro shoes from Target. I think they are only $20 and hold up really well (and he is HARD on his shoes!) and people are always complimenting the shoes I will buy a $600 chair for my nursery but there is no way I will justify spending the big bucks at Stride Rite
Noah's only had 2 real pairs of shoes so far, and we've both them both at Stride rite. We just bought him a new pair the other day....he wore the first pair for around 4 months. I justify it because he wears them every single day all day, they are the only shoes he has. He doesn't have "dressy" shoes or anything, he wore his sneakers with his Christmas outfit! We got this new pair on sale though, I think they were around 30.
Once he's out of that establishing walking stage we'll start shopping other places and get him a few different pairs. I looked at Kohls the other day and they seemed to have a decent selection.
I buy her shoes at the Stride Rite Outlet at the new outlet mall. She gets one pair of sneakers and one pair of dress shoes in each size, and I've never paid over $30 a pair.
We are loving the Converse One Star's at Target. We have the velcro kind, also. Ethan has actually been wearing the same size since at least July!! They have held up really well for us and he wears them all the time. I just bought cute brown shoes at Kohl's, they were on sale for less than $20, plus an extra 30% off!
