TTC After a Loss

And not good.. at 4 weeks 2 days, My progesterone was a 2.5, & my HCG was a 538.

I knew something was up because the dr actually called me back not the nurse. She said my progesterone was real low & asked if I was bleeding or cramping and I said no so she put me on 200mg of progesterone 3 xs a day. AND she wants me to come in for a us next week. I have that scheduled for next Thursday. Trying not to get upset & stay positive.

So I am pg today but if it is OK with you I will stick around here for a bit. I am KNOW the Ladies on PAL are great but you have been my support and I don't think I am strong enough without you right now.

  • Your HCG looks great, I know you're worried about the progesterone but I've read so much conflicting research on the role of progesterone and pregnancy.  Try not to worry too much!!!!

Yes you are correct, Betas are in the right range.. Just guess my ovaries suck at producing progesterone. BUT that is why there is supplemental progesterone we can take!

Thanks ShellShock.. That is good to know. I had only read not too look to hard at the HCG that the measurements on the ultrasound are a better indicator. But that is good to know there is debate on the progesterone. All my doc said was that at first your ovaries produce the progesterone then the placenta takes over and that the progesterone keeps your uterine wall from shedding.

Hang in.  Maybe the progesterone will do the trick.

  • I'm sorry you have to deal with this stress, but I hope progesterone is all you need to keep that baby growing.  If it helps at all, when my prog was really low, my betas were too so I think it's a great sign that your betas are high.  I'm thinking of you!  Keep us posted and hang out here as long as you want.

  • I hope the prog. works some magic for you. T&P!
  • First, we are here for you. Second, and on the bright side, you are so lucky that they found this low progesterone as early as they did.  I'm very hopeful that the aggressive supplements will do the trick and keep your lining thick/healthy.

Your HCG looks terrific and I hope that next week's results will set you more at ease.  I don't envy you the side effects of that much progesterone, though.  Feel free to vent or if you need a shoulder!

    Hugs to you.

  • Will keep you in my thoughts.

  • I'm so sorry to hear about your progesterone...but the supplements are life-savers, I think.  I'm on 200 mg twice a day and will be until at least 12 weeks.  So far, I haven't had any additional symptoms that I can attribute to the meds.  Your HCG looks great, so keep the faith that this will be your sticky baby!!!  I'm definitely praying for you!
