So I am going to call this potential new employer today after I get off work. Just a first time phone interview probably to set up the real thing...but I am sitting here racking my brain trying to think of the "appropriate" answer to why I want to leave my current place of employment. I don't think "because I work for an a-hole who doesn't appreciate a darn thing" or "this place sucks arse bc they haven't given anyone a raise in 3 years". You know, those types of things....any advice on how to answer the question kind of generally? I was thinking along the lines of "time to move on", "looking for a more permanent place of employment", "a combination of issues throughout my employment with the way things are done within the firm that I don't agree with" (that might be stupid to say)...see, I'm freaking out! Help ![]()
Re: Need advice for a phone interview, help please :)
looking for a place closer to home?
I like the "more permanent place of employment."
"My current job has moved in a direction that I am no longer comfortable with."
You could also add "and my attempts to move things back into a more ethical/responsible direction are not working."
