2nd Trimester

Does anyone take tylenol ?

I'm not quite on 3rd tri yet but my back has been killing me and I know there is more to come.  I wanted to know if anyone has taking any pregnant approved pain killers to help.  I took one last night so I could sleep and I swear it helped but I do not want to get addicted Smile

    B) Not addictive

  • I take tylenol for headaches. ?My OB said it was fine (on her approved list of over the counter medicines). ?Instead of taking two at a time, I take just one and then another if I need it.?

  • I've taken extra strength for headaches

  • My Dr. said only after entering the second trimester (which is the end of week 12 at their office).
  • I take the regular strength tylenol from time to time - I got a few headaches early in 2nd tri and that really helped.  OB said it is completely safe to take.

this...just no more than two regular(325mg) or one extra strength(500mg) at a time:)

  • My Dr said Tylenol was ok for headaches and such. I've taken it once so far.
  • I've taken a Tylenol here & there for headaches.  No biggie.

Tylenol is fine & from reading your post it seems you're aware of that.  So, why are you asking or am I missing something here?

    C) Doesn't work for squat on me :(

  • It's perfectly OK and I've taken it a few times for really bad headaches late first tri and into second.  Just take one Tylenol at a time.

I am asking b/c every one talks about their back hurting but don't say if they take meds, like they just tough it out. So before I start popping pills everytime my back hurts I wanted to see if others do it too.  Thanks for asking and the info.

  • yes Tylenol is fine to take. . DR approved it in the first trimester . .
  • yes - i take it?occasionally?when vicodin & percocet dont work. Kidding.?

Your OB didnt mention it was fine? You should bring it up with her.

  • Indifferent

    tylenol is not addictive

  • I take one extra strength Tylenol from time to time with headaches and also have taken Tylenol PM (Benadryl added) to help me sleep from time to time, which Dr recommended, especially now since I have a bad head cold.
