question about the city select stroller

so the new city select stroller that comes out in january looks kind of promising for twins. my only issue is that of the 16 configurations you can not do a double bassinet. i live in an area where i will be walking a lot with the babies, especially since they are due in july.

do you think it's a big deal that i can only either do 2 car seats or 1 bassinet with a car seat with the available configurations? i wont seriously be stroller shopping until march at the earliest just trying to research options online before we "test drive"

these are the 16 configurations:

Re: question about the city select stroller

  • I'm glad you posted this as I have the same question!

  • I say wait for Goldie. She's the stroller queen!

  • oh gosh- it's sad that i'm known THAT well arond here  :) hahaha

my opinion = don't even bother getting one bassinet... everyone I know that has bassinets says they wish they didn't spend the money on them - b/c you use them for such a short time.... i'd spend the money on the car seat adapters instead. I know I would have used those all the time when they were both in the infant seats (only Gray is now).

I also believe the regular seats fully recline - ?? I might be wrong about this because it doesn't matter to me anymore that they both have a full relcine- but if they do, then you can use the seats for newborns/infants, too... again, not needing the bassinet.

I can not WAIT for this stroller to start shipping!!!!  I have it on order already :)

  • I agree with Goldie.  We've ordered one - should arrive next week(!) - and opted for the car seat adapters rather than the bassinet.  I hope to do a lot of walking with them, and in the beginning will just use the carseat buckets.
  • thanks ladies! i can't wait to see what you think of this stroller.

right now i am considering this and the icandy, this is priced MUCH better.

  • just checked out the icandy - NICE! But it looks so cramped with the 2 bassinets --- even more reason not to want them IMO :)
  • that is just what my sister said!

i am on the fence about the bassinets because we are not getting bassinets for the house, the cribs we are getting go from bassinet to crib. and i know over the summer we will be spending a lot of time at my parents house and will most likely be renting a beach house august and september so that they definitely will get a lot of use. i also think the icandy may be like the bugaboo, where the seat converts from bassinet to seat with different fabric. i have yet to see it in person so will have to check it out.

i don't think the bassinets are a necessity but since i will be doing a lot of walking from home they don't need to only be in the car seats. i also thought they may be nicer to have for them to sleep in at the beach house.

  • We got our City Mini earlier than we had planned because when going for a walk, it was crazy to strap the girls into their car seats. Also, by July, it was so hot for the girls in their car seats that we couldn't be outside for long. I completely forgot about this issue until your post. Is there a chance that both babies could fit in one bassinet? I know of one twin family that just used an old pram for their newborns.
