2nd Trimester

Chickening out on telling work.

I dont want to tell. Originally I thought Id tell once I hit 12 weeks but now Im pushing it off. Im scared they will irritated that Im pg again. I just got back from maternity leave in June '09 :-/ ...and now I will be leaving in June '10.

DH said to go ahead & wait until they are literally staring at my stomach asking me if I have something I want to share ... haha. I dont know what to do .... ?

Plus I know theyre going to ask me what my plans are and I dont know what to tell them ... chances are I will not be returning but I dont want to say that until Im 110% sure. I dont want to lie though either.?

  • I chickend out too! I felt the same way I told myself 12 weeks and couldnt bring myself to do it... I ended up waiting until 17 weeks when people were staring at my bump... After 3 different co workers asked I figured it was time haha so silly

  • i think it is time you came clean.  They need to know so they can prepare your leaving for maternity leave.

You don't need to have all the answers right away, but you should tell them a little so they can get the ball rolling.

  • I am waiting until next week.  I figure it will be best to be done with the holidays first.  I too am not sure what the plan is for after the baby comes, so that is the part I am afraid of...

  • GL  I'm sure it's nerve wracking hiding your lil secret!  If they ask what your plans are, be vague or give them a future date where you will for sure have your mind made up.  A girl I used to work with did this and the boss was fine with it...

  • I still haven't told yet.  I plan to around 20w.  I'm not nervous about telling or taking time off, I'm just wanting to avoid all the unsolicited advice, questions and stories from the old ladies in my office.

If I wait until 16 weeks - that will give them 5 mos to prepare, no? I was concerned about this but am thinking this still gives ample time. Thats assuming I left at 36 weeks - which I stayed past last time.
