2nd Trimester

What the deal?

Tomorrow I'll be 19 weeks and I feel that I am NOT showing at all!  What the deal?  I'm getting a little worried.  Last night I was out with some people and one said "you don't even look prego". Sad I see other peoples' pictures and get sad and jealous.  I'm a larger than all woman so I know it will take me longer to show. My "pooch" isn't getting bigger AT ALL.

Re: What the deal?

  • Well if it makes you feel better I am like a bean pole normally and I'm not showing at all.  I lost so much weight in 1st tri I'm actually wearing my "skinny pants" (you know that pair in the back of the closet you haven't worn since high school but you keep it just in case one day you can wear them?)  I have less of a pooch than I did BEFORE I was pregnant.  And it annoys me because I have friends who are only a few days farther than me and they're starting to get at least a little pooch.  This week LO is supposed to be the size of a naval orange.  DH read that last night and was like "there's room for an orange in there?  Where?"

  • I'm right about where you are and people have told me I don't look pregnant, either. It made me sad because I thought I did. I'm getting there (can't wear my jeans without my belly band), but not looking spectacularly pregnant. You'll get there. Some of my friends I talked to said they didn't start to show til around 6 months. Chin up!

My OB said the same thing, especially b/c it's my first pregnancy. My family and friends swear that I'm showing a little, but I'm convinced I still just look bloated more than anything

  • I'm the same exact way.  My Ma says I have a little pooch, but most people are shocked to know how far along I am.  I'm in my maternity jeans now, so I know I'm growing a little bit.  I figure I have at least a month before I start showing.
  • I carry most of my weight in my stomach - DH and family/friends have said that they noticed that it's beginning to "round out" and look firmer...I don't really see it, but I'll take it!
  • Don't feel bad. I am the same way. I have not gained any weight and I am not really showing. DH and I are the only ones who can tell. I am still wearing all my pre-pregnancy clothes. My doctor was a little concerned at first because I only weigh 135 pounds, but we had our big u/s last week and LO is doing great. She is measuring exactly where she should be and we are both healthy.

  • Me too! (or me 3, 4, 5... Smile).  I only look pregnant now in the evening when all the (sorry TMI) gas/bloating starts to kick in. Then my belly pokes out. But in the morning, I look like I'm just a little pouchy.  This is #2 so, as they say, I thought I'd be showing a lot sooner.  Weird.
