Are you putting a potty on your registry?

I know LO won't need it for a couple years, but I've heard of some people who put potty stuff on their registry.  I personally don't have the space to store a potty for a few years... have you heard of anyone registering for stuff they won't need for a while?

  • I would register for things you need right away, or soon in the future. I just bought a potty at bru for 13 bucks with a coupon. We really wouldn't have had the room to store it.

  • I didn't... We wound up getting one, though, from a neighbor who had just finished pt'ing.
  • We only put things we need right away on our registry.

  • we put things on it that we would use in the future. . like Convertible car seat, sippy cups and plates . . however, we didn't register for a potty . .
  • No, I didn't.  I'd rather wait until we are ready and see what's out then.
  • I'm not.  Most registries I've seen had them on there, but most registries I've seen also have WAY too much and the mom-to-be winds up not getting all of the essentials.  I did put Bumkins bibs on there so I wouldn't have to invest in several of them in a few months, and our high chair because its $$$$, and I'm thinking I may put our convertible car seat on there, esp. if I decide to go with the regular Snugride.  But that's about it for things that can't be used pretty quickly.
  • I would only add the essential items that you will use right away like the other people suggested.  You could always add one later if you are running out of gifts on your registry for your shower guests.

  • newp. I didnt put a high chair, convertible car seat or any of those things I wont be needing for a while. BUT thats not to say you shouldnt. If you have a ton of ppl who will be shopping for you then add it all!
  • I have not only added a potty to my registry, I also added a tric & a wagon to pull him in.  You def need to think of things other than stuff for an infant.  My friend make that mistake and realized when her daughter was 6-8 mths in size, she had no clothes for her!!!  Better safe than sorry!
