Recommend your baby book

I am a total slacker and have not started a baby book for X. I've put some milestones into my phone but I want to keep them somewhere where he can look back on. Do you have a book that you love? TIA

I absolutely adore my Tessera book!

It doesn't have shiny pages (no smearing), it's customizable and expandable (I had several baby showers, so I just bought extra baby shower pages), and you can do as much or as little as you want...it's content driven.

It's a little bit more than other baby books, but I didn't want something themed or too baby-ish, and so far I'm loving it.

I don't have one I love, so here's what I did.  Each kid has 2 baby books and a time capsule.  I have one baby book for each kid that covers the first year in detail.  Then I have another one for each kids that covers the first five years, because I didn't want to stop at one year.

I've put in it their going home outfits, their personalized newborn hats, a newspaper from their date of birth, a selection of magazines (including the Year in Review edition from the year of their birth that's published by Time), some photos, a set of proof coins from the year of their birth from the U.S. Mint, and severl other items.

 i usually just write a bunch of milestones on a monthly baby calendar (the free one from BRU) and attach a pic from that month.

I'm building mine on Shutterfly as I go. I am making one for 2009 (Baby's first 3 months) and as soon as I get the Christmas photos in it will be done - then I will order 3 copies, one for us and one each for the grandparents.

I am adding all the normal baby stats, Maternity photos, baby shower photos, likes/dislikes, alternate baby names we considered, holidays, 1-2-3 months stats etc. They have super cute layouts and patterns, and I won't have to worry about the photos fading, falling out etc.

That shutterfly idea is great! Is there a way to back it up as you go so it doesn't get lost?

I have the Eric Carle Very Hungry Caterpillar Baby Book. It is adorable, and has a very easy format. You just fill in the blanks.
