Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Update on Dillon

They just finished up at the pedi, Dillon is fine. The throwing up and poopy diapers is all a reaction to the medicine. He's hydrated and ok.

His breathing is improved and they told us to stop using the humidifier. And, to also give him baby yogurt to help replace some of the healthy, natural bacteria.

Yogurt? Has anyone else heard of this?

We have a follow up appt. on the 11th.

Re: Update on Dillon

  • Glad he is better.

As far as the yogurt goes, we give M probiotics- same idea.

And yes, when I take antibiotics, I eat yogurt.

  • Sounds like the best news possible!

Antibiotics kill all bacteria- both bad and good in our systems. Yogurt is a natural source of a few types of probiotics, mostly acidophilus, which is crucial for GI health.  We give DD YoBaby everyday and also extra probiotics in BM when she is on antibs.

  • I guess we'll be stocking up on some yogurt then.

Thank you to everyone for their T&P

  • they sell a certain type of oatmeal at super target.  i think it's called happy bellies or happy baby?  anyway, it has probiotics in it as well, so that's an option if he's not a yogurt fan.

  • Yogurt - yes - had to do this with Jackson last week and also sprinkled probiotics on his food as well to help with diarrhea.

I am glad to hear that Dillon is ok and feeling better.

  • Yeah I have heard of yogurt.  When I am sick, I eat a lot of yogurt to help me.  I hope he gets better soon!
  • they sell an infant/child probiotics. my Pedi gave me some samples.

i use it in LOs bottle daily when he is on an antibiotic. he has had ear infections since Oct, getting tubes in 14 days. so probiotics have helped him so much.
