So somehow DH and my brother both ended up getting me a Keurig coffee maker for Christmas. Well, I had mentioned the idea to my parents but they decided not to get it for me. DH knew I'd been talking about it for a few months so he decided he should get it (and told me to get it b/c I was picky about which model and he's like that). So I got this nice, ultra-delux one with all sorts of sizes and everything that was on major sale. Well, apparently, my parents told my brother I was asking for one after deciding not to get me on and he and his gf got me the Keurig Mini. I'm seriously thinking about keeping both. I go into my office almost every Tuesday and Thursday after dropping the girls at school and often don't have time to even make a cup of coffee or tea in the morning before I leave, so it'd be perfect for the office. But DS will be here any day (literally) and I don't know if I will keep going to the office or come home. It really depends on DS's temperament. I did take DD#2 to the office with me for about a year and just had a pnp there for her to nap and play in, but she was older when we started. Also, I don't go to the office as much during the summer. I guess I would love love love to keep it and use it for the office, but it might be 6 months or more before I'm going regularly again. Plus it seems like such a waste of so much money since they are not cheap.
So WWYD? Would you return the mini and get another if/when I wanted it for the office? It's not like there aren't fifty thousand things I could get from amazon for that money. Is it silly to keep it? I don't know how long I have with amazon to return it - like could I see if I really did bring it to the office when DS gets here and things get back into the routine if I didn't open it? I am so tempted to keep it but I hate the thought of wasting the money and having it sit in the closet for months without us touching it. (FWIW - DH doesn't drink coffee or I'd offer it to him for his office.)

Keep it. You want to.
A present isn't about what is most practical, but what gives you enjoyment. If even on the infrequent days that you are in the office you'll get some joy from that cup of coffee, than it's totally worth it.

Exactly. Your not required to make practical use of a gift. That is what it is, a gift. It really should have no monetary value to you at this point, kwim?
Keep it, put it in your office and enjoy it. :-)
