tips for taking LOs temp?

I have a digital thermometer.  I have tried to take it orally and he is not having any of that and I have tried under the armpit but that isn't being very consistant.  Tips please?  I have been sick for 4 days (awesome, I know) and DS woke up sneezing and caughing this morning.
