As of Jan 1, 2010 all the daycares in our state are being required to brush kids teeth if they are there for more than 3 hours a day. If its an infant with no teeth then their gums are to be wiped with a damp cloth.
Sam & Jake each have 2 teeth. We'll need to get them extra toothbrushes to keep at daycare starting next week. I guess it'll force us to be better about brushing their teeth too if we make it part of the routine. But I still think its a bit strange for their teachers to be doing this too.
Re: WDYT?
I think it's a great idea....but 3 hours? I think it would make more sense if the requirement is if the child is there for a meal and do the brushing afterward.
Too many kids (or umm parents) have slacked in brushing their teeth...maybe this will help some kids.
