Last minute sitter

Matt and I would love to do something for New Year's Eve, just the two of us.  Our sitter is normally my mom but she has plans for New Year's Eve, of course.  Are there babysitter agencies that contract sitters for just one night?  Any recs?

How does one get a last minute, trustworthy sitter?  Is that even possible?

Your best bet is to ask around people you know and see if anyone is available or has a younger sister or someone who would babysit.  I think if you call an agency you may want to check references and interview people. plus you may end up paying an arm and a leg since it's a holiday! Good luck
