anyone get rash during pg or post partum?

i have the worst rash all over my belly, buns and thighs with raised bumps and itchiness. they started a few days before I delivered, and i thought it was just uncomfortable stretch marks forming, but it definitely is not that. so my question is did anyone have this, and how did you deal? TIA!!

  • YES! ?I got it within a week of delivering and I thought I was going to DIE. ?My OB didn't know what it was, but my dermatologist said PUPPS. ?OB disagreed, but didn't have another answer. ?Anyway, I got some steroid cream for it, and I'm so sorry to tell you it lasted about another 5 weeks. ?Get in to your derm right away for a rx. ?In the meantime:

Wash your clothes with the babies' detergent (non-scented, etc.).

Head to the drugstore and pick up non-scented body wash/soap, and lotion. Not that you have time to do this, but use it whenever you can shower (with cool water only), and lotion up at every single opportunity. ?

I'm so sorry you're going through this. ?I had every single miserable symptom of a multiple pregnancy, and this rash ranks WORST next only to 12 weeks of constant nausea. ? Hang in there...

  • I have two kinds of rashes on my back - one they could only give me a class c drug so I am just dealing, luckily it doesn't itch.  the other one is under my bra strap and because as we all know that area is just rubbed all the time by tightening bras and sweat, I can't seem to beat it.
  • I did. I rash appeared the day I came home with the girls. They thought at first is was PUPPS but we figured out that it was a allergic reaction. Best we can figure it was form the detergent the linens were washed in. Either way I was able to take a seroid to make it go away. woohoo. Oh, and I was/am BFing and my supply was not affected.

  • YES!  Mine developed about 5 days pp (I'm now 12 days pp) big huge welts all over my belly.  Dr said he had no idea what it was (I did have PUPPS before I gave birth).  He told me to take Benadryl and use cortizone cream.
