leg pains

I have been having shooting pains going down the back of my leg for the past two days.  When I went to the doctor on thursday she said that I am 3cm dialated.  Do you think the leg pains and period like cramps could be the sign of early labor?

    It could be... or, the leg pains could be sciatica.

    Ditto PP.  I had horrible leg spasms at the end, but I was also on bed rest and not moving around much or walking, which I think was more the issue (I have muscular issues so I tend to be prone to that kind of thing anyway).  Either way, yay for being 3 cm dilated.  You're past 37 weeks, so that's great!

    I had sciatica really bad the last few weeks of my pregnancy.  It went from my butt down my leg.  It got so bad that it was really painful to walk.  Unfortunately it didn't bring on labor faster but I did deliver DD a day early.  I hope it's not sciatica for your sake!
