Flannel sheets in the summer?

I was hoping you could help me out..I'm working on my registry and wasn't sure what kind of sheets to get.  The flannel ones have good reviews but most of them say for cold weather they were used.  Did you use flannel in the summer since the air is on anyways?  Sorry if this is  a stupid question..just trying to narrow it down to one kind. Thanks!

I guess it depends on where you live?  Here in Central TX, it would be too hot to have flannel sheets in the summer.  Even with the air conditioning.

we use egyp. cotton in the summer and flannel in the winter.  I would be too hot in flannel in the summer.  And I would register for multiple sets of sheets!

I like them in the summer.  I kind of wick away sweat and keep you cool, even though they are thicker.

Cotton in the summer, flannel in the winter.  I like to have 3-4 sheets.  Didn't need to change them frequently until he started rolling back to belly around 4 months.
