Two Under 2

3 under 2, or close to that?

Do any of you have twins & a singleton that are about 2 years apart?

DH & I have twins who are almost 15 months, and are starting to TTC #3 this month, which would essentially make an age difference of almost exactly 2 years if we were successful right away.  Just curious if anyone else here is in that kind of a situation?  We're very excited, but I'm also a little nervous about the logistics of how everything will work!  It's hard to imagine what our twins will be like when they're turning 2, since they aren't even walking yet (they were preemies, we're not worried!).

  • I have no input, as I dont even have 2 u2 yet, but Good luck to you and your DH in TTC. I think how ever hard it is when we all have little ones, it will be so awesome when they are school aged, as well as adults and very close. =)

  • I have a 19month old and 4month old twins. It all works out. When we first had the twins my h was like is it sad that it doesnt feel any different than having one? I told him no cause we had practice with our son.

Having 3 so close in age is not as bad as people make it out to be. You do what you have to and if you dont get all the cleaning done oh well.

    Good luck to you.

  • I don't have twins, but I had 3 1 and under for a bit.  They're 2.5, 1.5, and 7mo now.

Life would be a lot easier if DD2 slept.  Ever.

There are tons of challenges and tons of things to look at and say it's good.

Cleaning?  Ha. Hahahaha!!!!  Let's just say I'm happy I live far enough from people that nobody can pop over.  ;-)

  • My singleton (who walked at 17.5 months- not a preemie!) was 19 months when my twins were born.  You'velearned the tricks of getting around with multiples, the singleton will be a breeze!  My biggest piece of advice is invest in a few carriers... the first 5 weeks, my twins hung out in the moby quite a bit whenwe went to the playground or farmers market.  It was important to me for DD#1 to be able to still do fun things...

2 is fun- they are more communicative (and yes, very mobile!).  How great that they'll have eachother to amuse while you're occupied with the baby!  Oh, and if weather permits, bite the bullet and start getting out ASAP- and learn a system for getting in/out of the car, doing the grocery shopping, etc.  When the twins were 6 weeks I took all 3 kids by myself to IHOP foro a meal and the success gave me confidence to tackle anything.  Good luck!
