Fetal fibronectin Test

I thought it wasn't supposed to hurt! I just got one today and now it burns when I pee and I've been spotting. Doctor told me it is just my cervix irritated and to just keep an eye on it. I stopped bleeding and after running around doing errands, it started again so I am resting in bed.

Has this happened to anyone else?

    Mine hurt too! It wasn't the actual test though that hurt but the speculum was so painful. Thankfully I didn't have any burning or spotting. I was told that I may have some spotting afterwards. Is the burning coming from the uretha area of is from the vaginal opening. Maybe they scraped it with the speculum and that's what is causing the burning? If you are really uncomfortable or need reassurance, I'd call and ask. Hope you feel better soon. Good idea to stay off your feet for a little while.

    They didn't use a speculum when they did mine.

    If it burns when you pee, it could possibly be a bladder infection, unless the burning is definitely coming from your vaginal area. Ditto for the blood.
