Is this enough for my dad and step-mom?

Money is tight this year as both my DH and I were laid off...

I got my step-mom a thermacheck fleece pullover from Land's End ($20) and my dad a hand-carved cheese tray ($20)

 Should I get them something else more?

I think that is just fine especially considering the circumstances. The holiday season isn't necessarily just for giving either :-)

I just checked my bank account, anyway, and do not have it. I was expecting a check before Christmas but it never came.. oh well!

I would not worry.  We really scaled down Christmas this year (more for personal reasons) but we didn't spend more than $20 on anyone.  To me it's not really about the money spent but the thought behind the gift.
