what did you do the first few days to get potty training started? how long did it take for your son to tell you he had to go and then actually make it to the potty? how did you reward him?
DS was already showing signs that he was ready to PT. Going on the potty often, waking up dry from naps. Our daycare finally shamed us into starting PTing (I thought it was too early). We had him go naked for a few days, but I found that with him it was better to have him in underwear. Feeling the wetness worked better than just being naked, because he would just pee full force when he had no underwear on. LOL.
He had about a week of pee accidents (not every day, but after a week they stopped) and after another week he was done with poo accidents. And he insisted on wearing underwear to bed at that point, which I still think was kind of crazy. ETA: It seemed crazy, but he woke up dry. He's like a camel. The boy can hold his pee for a staggering amount of time.
We didn't really do any incentives or anything since he was already interested in using the potty.

I started when I noticed that he had a dry diaper for a few hours at a time. I would then immediately put him on the potty. If he went pee, he got one M&M, if he went poo, he got one cadberry easter egg (it was right after Easter)...lol.
As soon as he started going pee on the potty, I put him in regular undies and and regular undies with a pull up over them for nap and nighttime. He was potty trained completely in a week and night trained in a week and a half. I did remind him a lot for the first few days, but after that, he would tell me himself.
I still find myself asking him if he needs to go potty, but we are going through a "hands in his pants stage", so it's hard to tell what he is doing down there...lol.
