what is the easiest way to do this without getting engorged or getting clogged ducts. i am on the fence as to when but wanted to know how to go about when ready. i am def not producing enough and now that they are starting to eat more i thought about switching to formula. thanks!
Re: stopping pumping
You can drop a session every few days and drop the time that you pump too. For me after about two weeks it was just about done. Then i wore a nice tight sports bra to dry up the rest.
I had a hard time stopping, I kept getting engorged and blocked ducts very easily... I just started lengthening the amount of time b/w pumpings until I was down to 3 pumpings a day then I just stopped. I also took Allegra-D (which I had an Rx for to treat allergies) - the sudafed in that REALLY helped. Sage tea was also very helpful - and it was quite tasty. It took me about 2 1/2 weeks or so. Not very pleasant but I will say that once I was done it was SUCH a relief.. I loved being able to give my twins mommy milk - but not producing enough was so hard!
Good luck
If you have more questions you should try the Breastfeeding board - they were super helpful!
