I was really looking forward to doing an Audrey Hepburne themed Tiffany blue room for a baby girl. Well I can't exactly do that now that I am officially on Team Blue!
I already did the sports theme thing with my first son, and I'm having trouble this time around with clothes and the nursery because I don't like the color red, nor do I like bugs, dinosaurs, teddy bears, puppies, frogs, fire trucks or any of the other stuff like that typically on boys stuff.
I was thinking something like New York City skyline theme, Old Hollywood theme (James Dean, etc) or maybe even a Roman god type theme for the nursery.
I like things that you don't necessarily buy pre-packaged to complete a room, but rather individual pieces and a specific color scheme to pull it all together.
I need some examples to look at for inspiration, though, and all I keep seeing is the same ol stuff.
Anyone know where I can look or have any ideas?
Re: Anyone else not like typical Team Blue nursery stuff?
I was planning on doing some kind of critter theme whether it was a boy or a girl.
Maybe jungle or safari or elephants? Or even puppy dogs. DH and I are both animal lovers so it's kind of a no-brainer.
edit: ahh, I just saw you were looking for ideas. Have you ever checked out marimekko's textiles? They are available at a bunch of different stores on-line and one of their prints may inspire you. I like the city theme the best of all of the stuff you listed. I feel like you could do a super cool skyline mural.

Well Im having the opposite issue. Im team pink and not wanting to do a super pink girlie nursery. I found some great inspiration on the serena and lily website

The stuff is kinda pricey but can give you some good ideas. Nothing screams baby too much or boy/girl. Just a thought!
