re: eczema...we searched high and low to find the best combo to treat Marino's. He was getting skin infections constantly from scratching and introducing bacteria into his problem areas.

This is our daily routine:

fragrance-free everything (including wipes)

10 minute bath every night (open pores)

lather in Aquaphor

Steroidal cream at first sign of flare up on problem areas(usually only 2 times a month now)

Use EpiCeram (non-steroidal cream, you have to get rx from a dermatologist) on problem areas at every diaper change

Evening Primrose Oil in the morning

We've been doing this for 4 months and he hasn't had a flare up since.

Re: **Ali05**

  • I just put it in his morning bottle (its a liquid). So his morning bottle has:

    1/2 teaspoon of probiotic

    1.25ml of EPO

    1ml PolyViSol

    + 5 ounces of milk

I do that bottle b/c he always drinks the whole thing.

  • smart thinking! I'll try to pick some up today.

I'm struggling with vitamins because my MIL sent me 6 months of vitamins for E, but it's a powder that you're not supposed to mix with milk. Well she only drinks milk and it seems like such a waste to go buy a different kind when we have so many bottles at home :(

Applesauce? Marino's Singulair is a powder that can't be dissolved. I put it in 2 tablespoons of applesauce right before dinner (when I know he's hungry). He will ALWAYS eat "appysauce" (seriously, he would eat it at every meal if I offered it).

  • I'm butting in too...I HATE eczema.  I've battled it for 30+ years myself and unfortunately, DD already has it on her face :-(
