Anyone with twins have a Toyota Prius?

We are looking to save money anywhere we can right now, and are thinking about a Prius. From some reviews I have read, they are rather roomy, but I'm nervous about trading in our SUV for something smaller. Anyone have one? Like? Dislike?

Re: Anyone with twins have a Toyota Prius?

  • We have a prius and I love most everything about it.  Great mileage, reliable.

Cons (which didn't prevent us from buying):  You can SQUEEZE a thin person in the middle of the car seats if you have to.  DH sits there, my hips get squished.  And the rare double stroller will fit well in the hatch back.  We could fit our duoglide in if we took off the snack tray.  Our jogger fits but has to sit up over the edge of the back seat, and we have a fisher price wagon that fits fine.  Technically it fits, but is tight.

But we've taken camping trips in it, gone on a week's vacation with it, taken it to the airport filled to the brim with luggage.  It's by no means roomy, but it's sufficient.  Sometimes I wish for a mini-van or SUV for long trips when i want to take more stuff, but I LOVE the mileage.

And the kids only get older and need less stuff.  We took it, this fall, on a 1500 mile roadtrip and it was fine.  Not awesome, but again, we saved a ton in gas.

    I recommend it.

  • Thanks for posting this! We have had a prius for 2 almost 3 years and love it. I was getting worried that I'd have to get a bigger car but hearing that makes me feel better!
