Oh how I would like a shower.

I desperately want a shower... but there is no way.  The kids are keeping me on my toes today!  DH has to pick up a gift for someone today after work so he's going to be late...

I hate feeling dirty and I can't do anything about it!  The baby doesn't take a "deep sleep" kind of nap until about 4pm or so, so I can't put her in the bouncer in the bathroom until after then.

*sigh* and many of my recent showers have involved both kids in the bathroom crying..

Have you ever tried white noise with DD? When Ian was her age, the only way I could get him to be calm while I showered was turn on the hairdryer (cold setting, facing away from him on the toilet) while he was in his bouncer. Actually, white noise was my best friend when he was an infant.

And I can relate to the crying while you're in the shower. On the few occasions when I had to shower when he was awake and DH wasn't around, he'd stand there the entire time crying as if he was watching me get tortured. So much fun.

I just let her cry....  I figure, she is fed, diapered, and safe.  So if she cries just bc she wants to be held, well......she will have to deal for 10 minutes.  I haven't shaved in a while haha, but a quick shower is ok.

Of course I don't have an older DD that will either be woken up or could get into something while I'm in the shower

I am really understanding now what you're going through with two kids!!!!  I am terrified to be alone on maternity leave once my dh goes back to work. I'm not seeing any showers in my future either (
