WDYT of the name Alexis?

DH and I both love it, but we were planning to avoid anything in the top 20ish on the SSA popular names list. It's currently #15 and has been in the top 5 more than once in the last 10 years.

The other thought was to use the name Lexi, but it seems too short with our last name.

Opinions?

NMS- it seems kinda harsh sounding to me (and sounds like you're describing a Lexus) but if you love it go for it. I don't care for Lexi either although I do sort of like Alexandria.

I like it.  I actually prefer the nn, Lexi over the full name, Alexis.  But very nice name.

It's not horrible, but, for some reason, I've always thought of it as stripper-y. Just not one of my favorites.

I'm an Alexandra here (nn Lexi) and I really dislike the name Alexis. I like Alexa though. :-)
