Can I join the venting party?

We have been planning for months and months to move closer to DH's work. Our plan has been to rent something for a few months while we look to buy a house. It's been really difficult to find something that is within city limits (a requirement for DH's job), but we finally found a house that we could rent for 6 months.

We've been waiting for the current tenants to close on a house and move out, and I've been organizing our current apartment and delaying things because we were going to move soon. There have been problems with the closing, but we were shooting for a move in the first few weeks in January. The landlord just called DH and told him that the tenant's financing fell through so they're not moving out. Now we're back to square one, and trying to find an apartment in the middle of winter. We're considering going straight to buying a house, but buying one in the middle of winter isn't that much easier. Ugggh. Just ugggggghhhhhh.
