Vitex

I usually post over at GP, but thought this question would best be answered by you ladies.

Did any of you use Vitex?  If so, do you think it helped regulate your cycles?  Did you get KU a cycle that you used Vitex?  How long did it take you to notice a difference?

Re: Vitex

  • didn't take it, sorry can't help ya. :(  I wish you all the luck tho!

  • I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism in Aug and my cycles were out of whack when I went on synthroid.

I started taking Vitex in an attempt to regulate my cycles. The cycle before my BFP was 60 days long and I didn't O until CD47 and the two cycles prior to that were 17 days each and I don't think I O'd.  I started taking vitex and I O'd on CD23 and I got my BFP that cycle too.

Not sure if it was actually the vitex that helped regulate the cycles or if my body was just getting used to the meds...either way...something worked.

  • I haven't begun to use vitex yet, but will probably use it when ttc this next time around. The first time we used clomid, but we're hoping to stay more natural this time around. I've been looking into Femaprin, which is by Nature'e Way, and is a good brand. Anyway, from what I've read, vitex works great for many women to help with ovulation, increasing overall fertility, and lengthening the luteal phase. It does take about 3-4 months to really take effect though, so keep that in mind. Good luck!
