Do you open the intro post?  Do you open post from ppl you do not "know''?

the only time I open an intro, is when it has a star and high post.  That typically means it is a good post. If it is really really slow, I may open one.

If I do not know the poster, I only open it if it is slow.                                                    ^

Meh. I'm about the same as you. If its slow, I may open any and everything. Other than that, I look at poster/view number.

I only open it if there is a star, for the same reason as you, unless it's really slow.

As a newb to the BOTB board, I can say that I dislike intro posts. I don't do one for myself when on different boards, b/c I figure until I am actually involved on the board it is more of an AW move. I mean, are you really going to care any more about me just b/c of one post?

Generally I dislike intro posts. Unless, like you said, they have a star or a lot of views/responses.

I am usually on later at night when it's slow, so I open everything.  When I come on during the day, I am only here for a few minutes here and there, so I skim through and skip intro posts unless they have a lot of views or responses.

I don't open posts without clear titles unless it's slow.  I don't pay too much attention to posters unless I am looking for an update from someone in particular.

Is it just me or do most newbs who do intros usually GBCBOTB the same day?

When I've been away for a couple of days (like recently), I just skim all the posts for those with stars, regardless of poster. When I have more time, I tend to read just about everything. Intro posts don't bother me that much.
