For those of you who failed your Glucose Test...

Did you fast that entire day, or did you eat anything in the morning?

I fasted from the night before and had nothing to eat or drink in the morning.  I drank the "stuff" at 8:00am and they took my blood at 9:00am.

With DD I had to fast for 12 hours before the test.

My doctor told me to lay off sweets the whole week before getting it done...and i can go anytime of day to do mine and plan on doing it in the morning....lol

My dr's office has told me I don't need to fast...but I feel like I should anyway.  They warned me not to eat anything sugary that morning (my test isn't until 10).  Just about everything is loaded w/ sugar these days, so I don't know how to avoid it.

For the 1 hour test I wasn't asked to fast. I had a bowl of cereal that morning and I think that might have been what put me over. I did fast for the 3 hour test though and passed all 4 blood draws.

OHH no...i have to go for my glucose tolerance test today...and since we are having a party at work I have already had cookies and hot cocoa!! I am so going to fail!!! YIKES!!

I go at 3:30pm...should I fast the rest of the day?

I have mine on Janurary 6th. Not until 1pm! The doc office said I didn't have to fast, which would be tough for me anyways since I usually have lower blood sugar (I just think with the massive amount of weight I have gained I am going to fail it). But, I just plan on going easy on the carbs that week and just stocking up on proteins.

I go for this test on Jan. 14th. I wasn't told I had to fast. I was told to not eat a lot of sugars...no doughnuts, etc. My appt. isn't until 4 pm this day.
