I want to thank each and every one of you who responded to my post(s) about the possible situations we are considering.

Although I was away for the weekend, I was able to read the responses on my cell phone, and many of you made excellent points that rang true to me or that I hadn't previously considered.

After talking about it throughout the weekend, my husband and I have decided to wait until the results from Monday's matching session are posted.  If the little boy has not been referred to a family by that time, we will ask to parent him!  We are both truly on board with this decision.  He's a perfect match for us, and we've decided that it's more important to remain in our comfort zone than to adopt siblings.  If we bring him home and then decide that we truly wish to have more than one child, we can reevaluate our options later.

Since we've made our decision, I've been seeing "signs" everywhere.    I'm sure they are just coincidences that wouldn't have held any meaning to me if we had developed a different plan, but there have been several little things that all seem to point that this is right for us.  The wildest coincidence is that he was born just 3 days after we decided to start the adoption process.  Again, I know that doesn't mean anything, but it's just one more thing that makes me feel like this was meant to be.

So please keep your fingers crossed for us!  While I'd love for him to have a family ASAP, I'd also love for him to be our son.  Here's hoping that it will all work out, and we can enter our request before the end of the week!

BTW--have you ever seen the movie "Fools Rush In" with Matthew Perry and Selma Hayek? It's kinda cheesy, but cute too. They have an accidental meeting and then an "oops" baby--and it's about the blending of their cultures, lives..etc. There is a cute part about signs that you might like . 

"Signs are everywhere!"

Good luck! I know things will work out for you exactly as they should, but I will be hoping that now is the time and this is your son. Definitely give an update when you find out what happens Monday.
