I just watched the DVD yesterday - seems almost too good to be true! Have any of you 2nd+ time moms seen or tried these techniques, and if so, do they work?

I'm reading the book and am interested to know as well! A co-teacher said her daughter-in-law uses the techniques from the book, and she was amazed by how quickly the baby calmed down and stopped crying.
Yes...it was essential for us. DD had colic, which was miserable...the upside football hold was the absolute only way she would calm down and fall asleep & it worked everytime...that and the hairdryer running
They worked well for us. ??Putting her on her side and rocking was especially effective. ?It was also nice for DH to know the methods ahead of time. ?He quickly became a pro at calming her down and helping her fall asleep.?
A huge YES! The five "s's" or however many there were made a huge difference. I highly recommend this method. I need to go back and re-read before this babe arrives. I recommend the Miracle Blanket for swaddling. It was the only thing DS couldn't get out of. I shushing I found most effective done really loud and the swaying was pretty dramatic. It really got him to stop if he was upset!
This book & DVD was one of my not so secret weapons on surviving my first child. My other not so secret weapon was The Baby Whisperer by Tracy Hogg and the followup which is something like 'The Baby Whisperer answers all your questions'.
It is amazing. The swaddling technique, combined with the wombs sounds on the DVD stop crying in less than a minute! My DS was colic and it worked like magic. I made copies of my DVD for all of my friends when they had their babies.
