How much pain did you have after having it inserted?  I got it yesterday and was kind of crampy afterwards.  Today, I was fine for the first half of the day.  Then I started feeling crampy again.  And now I've got these stabbing pains - I can feel them in my cervix (almost like lightning crotch but more painful) and right above my pubic bone.  Obviously, there is a foreign plastic object in my uterus and pain should be expected.  But does that sound normal at all?

From what my doctor described to me as to what to expect after, this doesnt sound right.  I cramped while they put it in and had some light cramping after, but nothing after an hour or so.  I would call your doctor.

I just had cramping, no stabbing pain.  I would call.

I had cramps for 30 minutes after insertion and just felt a little achy otherwise for the rest of that day.  I didn't feel any kind of stabbing pain and that doesn't sound like something that is normal.  I'd call your doctor.

I had cramping....and I also had a stabbing pain...not sure if it is the same as yours though. Mine was caused by the strings from the mirena not bending properly and literally poking me from the inside. I was able to just go back into the OB and have them trim the strings and now I can't feel a thing!
