Vicks vapor rub

Liam is fighting a cold/cough.  I tried vicks vapor rub last night on his chest and it seemed to work.  Is this ok to use before the age of 2?  My MIL also said I need to make sure I wash it off in the morning otherwise it leaves the pores open and it could cause pneumonia (is she crazy)?

    Our pedi said that it was fine to use on Jacob, so I would think that it would be ok on Liam too.  It worked pretty well for us.

    I've never heard anything about washing it off in the morning.

    because pneumonia is coming in through his pores? Huh?

     

    I use Vicks BABY rub and it helps with E's congestion.  The regular adult one needs to be out on feet with socks, apparently, but baby rub is great!

    I second the Vicks Baby Rub.  It's supposed to me gentler (?)  I hope dc feels better soon.

    Ditto PP's, we use Vick's Baby Rub and it seems to help!
