Rosy cheeks?

My poor little man has a cold. He has been sneezing like crazy the past 24 hours, his eyes look a little puffy and his nose is like a boogie faucet. <hope that isn't too gross>

He doesn't have a fever, is playing /eating fine. The only thing that concerns me is his warm rosy cheeks. He's never really had a cold- is this normal?

Of course, I have to work today. It's only 6 hours and he'll be with his mom but it's SO hard to leave him when he's not 100%. I know I'm being silly but I keep thinking of that tragic story someone posted a few wks ago about that baby and the fever. Now I'm afraid to let him out of my sight if he's sick :(

Re: Rosy cheeks?

  • Could they just be a little chapped/frostbit from the cold air outside - did he go out yesterday? If he doesn't have a fever I really wouldn't worry...I would just check his temp (even at every diaper change to ease your mind) - I did that when Evan felt warm after I read of that little boy too. But he was no where near a fever and was acting fine. That story really threw me for a loop - I think what added to it was that our boys were about the same age.

I hope he feels better soon!

  • Gavin has had red cheeks on several occasions the past couple of weeks.  I think it's just the cold weather.  If he doesn't have a fever, I wouldn't worry about the cheeks too much.  I hope he feels better soon.  It sucks to have a sick LO.
