Two Under 2

anyone else having a much harder time with this pregnancy then previous one's?

Just curious if anyone else is getting their butts kicked with baby #2 (or more) like I am?  My first pregnancy was pretty easy, but this baby is wiping me out.  I'm trying to figure out if it's one factor, or a combination of a few.  My very active son is 17 months old, I'm in my 3rd trimester, and I'm a teacher at the end of a busy semester.  But this time around, I can't seem to get enough sleep, I'm sick all of the time (cold type sick) and just flat out emotional and exhausted.

Anyone else feeling like me?

  • Yes! It is more difficult this time around. I actually don't really feel all that bad as far as back pain, etc. It's just more tiring chasing a toddler!

  • I'm exhausted all the time.  I just can't keep up!  I'm hoping it's going to get better soon!

  • YES!

I have an active 19 month old!

I am a PE/Health teacher!  And, this year has been insane with transitioning to a new health program and an updated Driver Education program - both of which I have had to change some of my teaching style....

I am definitely struggling this time.. with everything.. not being able to sleep when I get home and being exhausted for DD.  Not have adequate time at night with DH since I am exhausted.  And, just being overwhelmed with everything...

Right now it is survival mode!

  • Yes. ?Frankly, it absolutely sucks. ?I'm up at 5am on a Saturday because my acid reflux is so bad I wake up throwing up at least twice a night. ?I can't sleep because of that and the heartburn and the leg cramps. ?And I never get a nap, because when DS naps (1x/day) I have things I need to get done. ?Chasing DS around is getting tougher each week (he's 15 months and really busy). ?And yeah, I'm definitely more emotional too. ?

I didn't realize how easy I had it the first time around. ?Which is why I tend to roll my eyes when the first timers on 3rd tri complain about how hard it is!?

  • It still boggles my mind how your body can react to pregnancy soo differently the 2nd time! My first pregnancy went pretty smooth, I was only sick a few times. This time, not so much! I was throwing up several times a day until 16 weeks, I have had a break until 2 nights ago and the sickness is back in full force! Being sick and always having an upset stomach does not work well when you are chasing around a newly 2 year old!
  • yes. this one has been much harder.  the m/s and all the other symptoms have been worse.  Plus, I'm so tired with DS, who's 20 months and active. And we're really busy with our store for Christmas time so we've been working 7 days a week.  I never got around to decorating the house for Christmas.  Our tree has lights and only a few ornaments on it.

  • Yup.  I actually foound that once the baby was born (as difficult as that was, it was a huge relief!!!!  My body felt so much better, I felt I could keep up.  Even with a c-section.  I know it sounds strange but for me it got easier once #2 arrived.
