What would you do?

I saw someone posted earlier about amazon.com having the snap n go stroller on sale for $75. We plan to get this. I am only 8 weeks along though we have seen the heartbeats twice now and have no reason to think everything isn't fine. I know it's a personal choice, but I'm curious what others would do in this situation: would you order it or wait so as not to jump the gun and "jinx" things?

Re: What would you do?

  • I'd probably wait, but I felt that buying cribs at 17 weeks was early so that's me.  Also, double snap n gos can be found used for $50 or so, so that's another option, and since they're only used for a short period of time, they're likely in decent shape.

  • I bought our stroller and car seats @ 11 weeks because they were discontinuing the pattern that I wanted.  I don't believe that you could "jinx" anything.  What's going to happen will happen regardless of whether you get the stroller or not.  But keep positive thoughts!  Call it your first Christmas present for the babies!

  • I would wait.  In addition to things being available on amazon at a discount, there are mothers of multiples clubs all over the country and there may be one in your area.  These clubs usually have great sales and you can buy gently used gear for dirt cheap.  The snap-n-go is only good for infant car seats, which your babies will be in for a short period of time.  I was able to purchase one from another MOMs that lives in my area for $20!!!  It is in excellent condition.  So I would wait until you get your bearings.

  • I would probably wait, not because of a superstition that it could jinx anything, but just because you could find them cheaper.  We got our DSNG used for $40 or $50 through Craigs List.  Since you're only using them for a short while, people sell them in excellent condition for cheap prices.  I'm sure we'll end up selling ours for a similar price once we're finished with it.
  • I would wait.  Not for fear of jinxing anything, but if you plan to have a shower you can always register for one.  That's how we got ours and I plan to sell it when we're done with it.  That way you can make money instead of spending it:)
  • wait.

things go on sale ALL the time.

  • I too would wait. Of course, I waited to buy anything b/c I couldn't move pass the whole jinxing myself thing. Even now, I'm hesitant to buy anything. What can I say....after 2 m/cs, I have issues. My parents bought mine for me from Wal-mart when they had it rolled back to $80. There will be more deals that pop up between now and then.
