Bakers!!! Another quick question

So, if I make a batch of cookie dough, can I put it in the fridge tonight to bake it tomorrow?  Or is it one of those things that you have to bake right after it's made?

Re: Bakers!!! Another quick question

  • i've done that. just make sure it's airtight or it will dry out on you (done that too).

    you can freeze it too.

  • just make sure you refrigerate it.  I would bake it within 2 days though because of the eggs...also depending on the type of cookie you may need to let the dough warm up a little to be able to spoon it or what ever you are doing.  oh, and if it's cold it won't spread as much when you bake it.
  • Cool.  It's just some sugar cookie dough that I want to make but don't know if I will have the energy to bake once I am done, since I am currently working on chocolate covered pretzels....

and yes I know it's like almost 10 pm here.  I am kinda like a crazy person with baking this year.  It's my first time EVER in my life really baking and I am having so much fun doing it.

You should see all the goodies I have been making.  Maybe when I am all done, I will post pics of everything.

sugar cookie dough recipes often call for your to refrigerate it overnight! should be perfect! :) sounds yummy.

This is the best glaze for sugar cookies. It gets hard-ish and is yummy. You have to play with the proportions so it is thick enough. I think I use a little more powdered sugar than it calls for. Its also super easy to dye--you don't have to use much dye at all!

Oh that is perfect!!!  I am going to use my cookie press to shape them, and then I was just going to put sugar sprinkles on them, but this glaze will be PERFECT!  thanks so much!!
