Pee Color Question (Possible TMI)

Last month, my MW told me that I need to drink more H2O b/c my urine should be almost clear by evening.  Well, the appointment was at 5pm and my sample was from 5:30am, so I've been paying attention lately.  I can get it pretty clear by evening but in the mornings, it's dark again. Is yours like this?

I ask b/c I have another evening appt and my sample is pretty dark. This time if she tells me I am not hydrated enough, I want to be able to say "That's from 12 hours ago, I'm fine."  But, if your pee is clear in the mornings, too, then maybe I'm not fine....Oh the fun things to worry over when you're pregnant!!

Mine isn't super dark yellow in the mornings, but it's not clear.  I drink water every time I wake up to pee at night though.

Pee is usually darker in the morning b/c it's been in your bladder all night without any extra fluids to dilute it.  That's why it's clear by evening.  I'd hope your doctor would understand that morning urine is darker...

Mines dark in the am too. You have to think, you haven't had anything to drink in what 8-10 hours, of course it's gonna be dark...

if you don't drink throughout the night (because you are asleep...), then your urine will probably not be clear in the am. do your best to drink all day and keep it clear while you are up and don't worry about the first time in the morning one.

(you said your MW said "by the evening" so it seems clear that they know it won't be clear in the am)

This exactly.  I would think this is normal what with the build up overnight with no new fluid going in and all.

lol I too have the radioactive neon yellow/orangey pee in the morning! It gets lighter throughout the day, depending on what I drink, and is right back to dark again in the morning.

mine's darker in the morning and clear by the time i go to bed.  i think it's about impossible to have clear pee in the morning because you haven't had anything to drink in at least 8 hours or so.

OK good. I was wondering if she was trying to tell me I wasn't doing good enough or if it was just a "Hey, by the way, as long as it doesn't look like this now, you're good."

Mine's pretty light most of the time.  I drink truckloads of water!

Mine is close to clear in the mornings and throught most of the day...I'm a little obsessed with drinking enough water though- so I keep a 16oz glass by the bed and when I wake up to pee I drink the entire glass before going back to sleep...I refill it if I wake up again.

I have to say that my fmu is nearly orange it is disgusting. But near clear in the evenings. I think you are okay.

I believe your prenatal vitamin will make your pee a different color too. I know my pee is florescent in the morning, I take my vitamin with breakfast,  and it gets lighter as the day goes.

Yes! I forgot that when I started taking them, they made me pee the color of Denny's scrambled eggs!! LOL
