Just felt like sharing.

I made "mc skillet burritos" for breakfast this morning. I put in all the same ingredients as mcdonalds does, except american cheese (blech).
And, I figured out how much it cost to make it vs. buying it at mcdonalds.
Okay, so some of the figures I had to guesstimate because I don't remember how much they cost. But even if I was off a bit it's still going to be cheaper...

myskillet burrito = $1.68
mcskillet burrito = $3 something

Take that mcdonalds, and mine is way better than yours.

  • I'd like to know the recipe as well.  I've never had one but it sounds yummy.

  • I didn't follow a recipe. But this is what I did;

    makes 4.

    4-8in tortillas
    1/2 baking potato diced
1/4 sm. yellow onion diced (could probably use other onions but yellow is my fav)
    1lb pork sausage
    2 oz cheddar cheese
    4tbs salsa
    4 eggs

    1) brown sausage in skillet. Set aside. Fry potato with season salt until cooked through.
    2) Add onion, salsa, cheese and egg. Cook until eggs are not runny
    3) Wrap up in tortillas

The season salt I used is not the red kind. It has like sea salt and some other ingredients. I wish I knew the name of it, it's really good. But I'm sure you could use the regular stuff and get the same effect. (effect, affect. I hate grammar)
