I took my dog for a walk a few hours ago

and I was half way around the next street over and it's like a ghost town because everyone is at work..then as I am walking past this house I see a kid, about 2 years old, crouched down in front of the garage. I stood there for a moment and looked aorund and no one was there. Then I said "hey buddy is your mommy or daddy around?" and he refused to look at me or say anything. I stood there for what seemed like 5 min. but was probably only one more minute. Then I said "okay we'll I'm going to see if anyone is home" (in a loud voice to see if anyone would come out.). No one did so I rang the door bell and this woman answers with her 1'ish year old in tow and I said "ohhh well I was just makin' sure someone was home" and she says "I am and I have been watching him." He was clearly in trouble for something and upset but why would she have not come out and stopped me from talking (I men hello I am a strange woman with a crazy golden doodle) to her 2 year old?

Weird!

  • Yeah, that is weird.  I am glad you went to the door to check that all was okay.

  • That is very weird. And for his punishment he was sent to the garage? I guess that might not be what happened..?

  • Oh and the garage door was closed. He was out in front of the house with the front door and garage door closed. So odd.
  • I have begun to hate most of my neighbors b/c their kids are always outside without an adult.  They range in ages from 2 to 6.  This summer one of the two year olds was outside by himself leaning over one of those big inflatable pools.  Disaster waiting to happen.  Another day I drove by and a three year old is hanging out by the mailbox on the street.  These are the same people who have those go slow child signs all over the freaking place and get pissy if they feel someone is driving too fast.  Which I get, but maybe if you watched your kids you wouldn't have to worry about traffic so much!  My four year old and two year old are NEVER outside by themselves!
