Is Alexis too popular?

DH & I both like the name Alexis, but are concerned about its popularity. Do you know many babies/toddlers named Alexis? Think it's too common?

We don't want a popular name, which probably means that this should be off our list... WDYT?

That's where the problem is! We both like it and haven't seen it around that much. Then I checked the SSN list this morning and saw how popular it *really* is! He's ready to cross it off the list because of that.

I think as long as it's not in the top 10, it's fine. I don't know of any little girls named Alexis, to be honest. I know 1 Alexandra and she goes by Alex. She is 3.

I don't hear of Alexis too much anymore. It a nice name.

I worked in a daycare last summer- I had 4 Alexis', 2 Alexa's and 2 Alexandra's. That being said, all of those kids are in kindergarten now, but it has been pretty popular. But if you don't know of any and you love it, I say use it anyway:)

About half the girls under 2 yrs of age that I know are named Alexis. If you like it.. go for it, though.

I worked in childcare 6 years ago, and I swear half of the little girls there were either Alexis, Alexa, Alexandra, or Alexandria. UGH. For this reason, I hate this name. That was awhile ago, but still....

I don't think it's too popular.  I only know 1 Alexis and she is 30 yrs old.

I don't think Alexis is too popular at all!!  I love it!!  I'm a nanny so I'm around lots of kids all the time and I actually haven't known any toddlers/kids with that name.

I've never met a single person named Alexis. And I even worked in L&D. I think it depends on the area you live in.
