Prenatal vitamins ** update**

My doctor prescribed OB complete 400. I have taken them for 2 days and i started itching all over my body. Now i have just wasted $50. I want to try another brand but don't want to waste my money again ;-)

Is that a common listed side effect?  If so and you are concerned about wasting $ I would wait it out.  For me, common side effects tend to lessen if I continue taking the medicine as directed.

If it's considered a not-common side effect you should contact your doctor.

Can you try children's chewable vitamins and add some extra folic acid?  I know when pregnant women can't stomach regular PNV's they are told to take children's chewable vitamins. 

 

I know when I take some regular muti-vitamin I break out in hives. I think it's the iron.

Yes it does say some people might experience hives, itching as side effect

If you are pg, you need a script vitamin.  If not, I would play with the cheaper OTC vitamins such as Target, Sam's club, or GNC before I would pay that much for prescription vitamins.  JMO, but so many of them caused me to puke and I felt so much better on OTCs.

My ob/gyn gave me at least two months of samples of various PNVs.  I tried them all and just picked my favorite.  Maybe you should ask for samples before spending that much money on another PNV.

She had a whole closet of samples.  It was unreal!
