I started using the OPK
Day 1-line faint
Day 2-line faint
Day 3 line dark
Day 4 no test
Day 5 line faint
Does day 5 mean ovulation is over. What days should I be doing the deed on.? Sorry I'm new to this whole thing and the instruction book doesnt really say. I have the Target brand kit. ![]()
Re: Dumb question about OPK
You should have sex everyday that you get a +.
Personally, I have sex everyday that I have fertile CM, a + OPK, everyday that I get an almost + OPK and every other day until I can confirm O on my chart.

My Chart / Info for Newbies
If the test line is as dark or darker than the control line you are getting the surge.
If the test line is lighter then you are not getting the surge.
Maybe on day 3 or 4 you should have had sex.

Assuming the day 3 line was as dark or darker than the control line (check the instructions for how to read the specific brand) you *may* have ovulated 12-48 hours after that.
You can get a +OPK and not ovulate (see my chart) so only temping & charting will tell you for sure.
You should have sex before ovulation for best results (sperm live up to 5 days, but the egg on ly 12-24 hours), so definitely the day of your +OPK, but before and after can't hurt. If you did ovulate, the egg is likely gone by now.
